Too late? LOL. It’s only the 5th 😉 My fiance and I bought some really awesome fireworks, almost professional style. They were AMAZING. When I get them up on my Facebook, I’m going to post a few firework pictures here too. I got some great shots!

Anyway naturally, I have a few July 4th themed manicures for you. They’re fairly simple (In my opinion) and I have a guest nail to show you. 🙂

Flag
First I freehanded vertical halves of my nails with a dark blue and red polish. I don’t remember the polish colors, will have to hunt up on that if you’re really interested. Honestly any red/blue will do. 😛

Then, when the red side was dry I put on white crackle. I used China Glaze’s Lightning Bolt, but I felt this did not work well this time. 😦 It was disappointing. The thumb crackled fine, but the rest was weird. Maybe it didn’t like crackling over red jelly polish.
StarsandStripes
I picked up some star shaped nail glitter, from my Bundle Monster nail art wheel set and placed them on the dark blue side atop wet polish, then sealed everything with topcoat. It was awesome, in my opinion! Although sadly the stars started popping off the next day. D:

Nick also volunteered his nails. He VOLUNTEERED. He told me I must make a flag theme. OK then 🙂
CthulhuFlagHands
This picture makes me giggle. Cthulhu hands! It was really simple. I used this striping polish set from Sinful Colors, and horizontally painted nails blue/white then added white dots for stars on the blue half, and red stripes on the white half. Very simple and took me about 5 minutes to do. Promise!

RedWhiteBlue
Now, this is the manicure I ultimately went with for July 4th and still do actually have on. It’s too awesome to pass up 😉 I alternated from the pinky to index fingers, red white and blue polish. The white is Orly Winter Wonderland layered over a plain white polish for some sparkle. The red and blue are just your average polishes, the red was a Kleancolor and the blue was a Nabi polish I think.

THEN… I tried out the BLACKBERRY BLING style!
Blackberrybling
This term was coined quite a few years ago, when Blackberries were all the rage and people had addiction problems. It means to create accent nails on your thumbs, and leave all the other fingers plain, as the thumbs are much more noticeable while texting. I have to say, as a compulsive texter… I LOVE THIS LOOK. Way better than the standard “accent finger” on my ring or index fingers! Blackberry bling is the way to go 🙂

I got a bunch of OPI shatters, including their blue collection and played around with them 😀

BlueOveraShatter
Base color: Orly Blue Collar
OPI Silver Shatter
I love this effect– I really love the silver shatter over a blue base, it just looks wonderful like that.

NavyCrimson_Unlabeled
Pure Ice Crimson, with OPI Navy Shatter over it. It just looks black here, but I adore this effect. It looks just like cooling lava!

Spiderman_HandPose
Pure Ice Crimson, with OPI Blue Shatter over it. Spiderman! XD

Spiderman_ExtremeCloseup
It was really interesting to look at. It looked almost multichromatic from afar due to insufficient contrast, and people thought they were like a chameleon. XD

Hi guys, I’ve almost caught up with my swatches (Well I HAVE caught up, but there are a bit of pictures I need to redo and then mark/edit. =) So now I’m just scheduling posts. I hope you don’t mind two posts within 30 minutes, lol. My recent review was shorter than I expected.

These here are old NOTDs from April or May =)

Stamp: BM19

PurpleCheckers

For Monday, we have the sixth Lippmann featured! This one is Today Was A Fairytale and it has diamond bits in it! (They probably said that to justify the price, but you could go around saying “I’ve got diamonds on my nails.” and feel luxe)
Pictured next to Essie Limited Addiction, a polish I used to layer the Fairytale polish with.

A pic of Limited Addiction. The color is much darker than this, and I think this is my “the Red.” I am not sure. I need to do research.

This is one coat. You can see why I chose to layer this polish because one) hello price tag and two) it’s silver glitter suspended in a clear jelly base. It would never get opaque!

Hexagonal and small glitter, a la Bad Romance and Across the Universe. Purdy! Unfortunately I destroyed this manicure quickly so I took it off before I remembered to take out the matte topcoat D:

Razzle Dazzle, ready to go in line! This is the second day of my Lippmann theme week (and a day).
It’s a lovely ruby red shimmer/small glitter suspended in an extremely vampy raspberry base. Fitting for a Friday, I think, however I spent this evening watching L’Abbe de L’Epee, an awesomely funny satire.
Spam! Not the canned kind. What? You hungry or something?

Check out this! It required about three coats, but that’s because I wanted things to be all even and nice. Three coats for polish doesn’t bother me as it might for some people.
What’d I do next then, after wearing this all day? Broke out the matte topcoat of course! (Probably much to the chagrin of my cousin Shauna, who believes matte polish should be banned from using on polish like this.)
Nee ner nee ner, I actually like the matte version a little bit more better.  I’m weird like that!
In my humble opinion, it brings out the sparkles. This picture pulls way too purple though.
Thumb closeup. Please excuse the cuticles, the tiny glitter made it a biatch to clean up.
