Sorry ’bout the lobster hands. Something about this color combined with my artificial lamp made my camera go “Oh hell naw.”

This is OPI’s Here Today… Aragon Tomorrow in Suede finish, with Wet N Wild Black Creme for the dots. I had an idea of the military jacket, with the buttons on the side and when I completed it it came out just the way I envisioned… Scary! When I showed it to Nick, he said “I like it! It reminds me of a army jacket, maybe a peacoat with buttons…” I love how his vocabulary has grown by dating me.

Slightly more accurate color swatch, if you’re interested, and a close up to help you get an idea of the suede finish.

My cousin wanted to see how the OPI Shatter worked, so here’s a video of it in action! 🙂 The magic really does happen before your eyes, this is just so neat

Guess who came in? That’s right– the OPI Katy Perry collection! I’m so excited for this 🙂

eee~ see what’s peeking on the left? Shatter! I got so excited when it came on I plopped it immediately on an accent finger of my Harlow funky french manicure.

I was a little disappointed– it didn’t do that amazing crackle effect like I’ve seen on other blogs, but maybe it has a different effect on matte finishes? Nevertheless I soldiered on, breaking out China Glaze Custom Kicks and Snow.

China Glaze Custom Kicks. When I photographed this at first for a personal swatch (would you ever be interested in seeing my swatches??) I thought there was something wrong with my camera, or me. This polish is actually a very strong teal green but in all of my pictures it showed up as BLUE. So when I googled for other people’s pictures I saw they had the same problem. Looks like this is just shy 🙂

Edited: Apparently my Flip takes pretty great color accurate videos? Here’s a snapshot, which is a screenshot of what the Flip thinks Custom Kicks’ true color is (and it matches it wonderfully) however blurry.

CG Snow. Pardon the messy application, Snow was very streaky and HARD to get even with.

Thoughts? I love this!! 😀 I need like, 300 bottles of this stuff. For serious.

Here we have a OPI Russian Navy in Suede. Suede is an interesting finish and I love this– it’s between matte and shimmer, it has the texture of matte but is still glossy. I painted on a top coat on the very edges– trying to make a glossy french tip kind of look, but it’s really hard to detect because of the suede finish. You kind of have to *look* for it.

And my thumbnail broke.. 😦 I hate the winter!! I am totally blaming Orly Nail Defense as well– I don’t believe my nails peel or break this easily.

It’s a friend of mine’s birthday today, and Nick thought it’d be fun if I painted “HBDAY LIANE” on his fingernails and here is the proof 😉 First time doing letters, and it’s not too shabby!

She actually seemed to really like them! Then again she is also a lacquerhead…

So I obtained the Forever After collection, which is of six colors with equally awesome names and colors. I couldn’t decide which one I wanted to use for tonight, so the obvious solution was to use them all! I’m not sure if I should have used Fiercely Fiona as a base, though. Bit neon for me. I also don’t wear yellow.

Yes yes I was excited and took the pic right after the top coat was applied. So you get flooded cuticles! The OPI formula for this one was a bit thinner than I was used to and kind of streaky, so I put a bit more product on my nails than I expected to and hence the cuticles drowned in yellow cream. In these pictures it seems to be difficult to distinguish between the light blue (What’s With the Cattitude) and light purple (Rumple’s Wiggin’) dots.
