French Tips… in a while!

Been a tad busy, so there’s a backlog of photos to be posted which might result in a little spam. I apologize in advance.

I got this French Duet package from Orly, which I will be doing a little product review comment thing soon but anyway here is my nails, with the “french tip” look… Excuse the messy application, it was extremely hard to clean up! The white french tip polish was v. runny and a lot of trouble for me.

This is my best hand. Anyway after having a few hours on this mani, I felt it was way TOOOOOO plain… Solution? Glitter, of course.

I liked it a lot better after that particular addition 🙂

On a side note… want to see what happened when I decided to forgo base coat?

That’s right, BLUE thumbnail!! 😦 It even went on to show up in my left hand’s french which is shown next…

Frankly it’s still there and this manicure was done last week. 😦 I forgone the base coat because I was in a hurry and wanted to post that Shatter video and well. Shouldn’t have huh!

A quick pic of what my toes look like at the moment. I usually do my nails free hand, but I need to start incorporating tape for cleaner lines I know…
The silver is Orly Tiara, and the blue is Orly Witch’s Blue.

First Water Marbling attempt!

 The glittery ones have a glitter as a base, from Claire’s– let me tell you that thing comes on clumpy, and DOESN’T leave. Bad idea for a base. I used a light blue shimmer by a Perfect 10, and Midnight Blue by Sinful Colors. I originally wanted to do the Claire’s glitter, but it didn’t spread very well over the water.

 Really bad one haha.

 The ring finger on the left is my favorite!

 My fiance, Nick’s favorite. He also assisted me with the water marbling activity because he was so fascinated by it.. 🙂

 

Lessons learned? Don’t use glitter in water marbling. They tell you to use plastic or glass bowls/cups FOR A REASON. We tried to be cheap and use a Styrofoam cup but after one marble the bottom corroded through and we had water all over our bathroom counter. Also don’t use Claire’s “top coat glitter” as a base (unless it comes out perfectly like that ring finger above).
