Here it is, right after completion.

Then I felt it still needed some jazzing… So I added french tips.

I’m a little clumsy with the BM stripe stamp, and didn’t line this one up well at all LOL

Sparkly base: Nubar Hyacinth Sparkle; Stamped stripes: OPI Rumple’s Wiggin; French tip: OPI Purple With a Passion (pictured above with the bottle)

The nails you see below is belongs to the lovely Victoria! She loves the houndstooth pattern, so I told her I’d stamp it on her, and she came over with bare nails and left with…

Orly Charged Up, with Wet N Wild Black Creme stamped in the houndstooth pattern.

The next day after my OPI’s Do You Lilac It? with Shatter, I felt it was boring and needed pizzazz. So I added glitter, naturally.

My Nubar haul also came in coincidentally, so what we have on top is Nubar Purple Fire. The name is very misleading– it isn’t purple. Just an explosion of glitter 🙂

Check out the colors standing out!

Hehe attempt at punning… Let’s see how it goes? Stretching it? Eh, maybe. Ok.

We have OPI Do You Lilac It? here. Which is a very light lilac, more of pink actually to me, under OPI Shatter. I experimented with thickness and direction of the brush strokes, and as you can see it does create a very different look.

Pardon the chop job hehe 😀

The pinky is the thickest layer I ever did, and horizontal– you can see how chunky it really is.

Yes I felt the need for a million pictures. Thoughts? Do you like horizontal or vertical strokes?

Also, you know– It seems that Shatter doesn’t work on everyone, or over any polish? My roomie begged to borrow it and… It didn’t work for her! It just dried matte and clumpy on the top of her toenails. She did choose a Sinful Colors polish, but I doubt that Shatter would have refused to work over a certain polish? Weird. 😛

China Glaze is releasing a Crackle collection, which will have different crackle colors!! I am SO ordering that when it comes out! 😀

I originally wanted to do all nails different shades of blue, for the upcoming Blue Monday… or whatever. Then I felt it was too blah, and wanted black on it. But I feel like I’ve done too much polka dots– that’s kind of my default pattern. So I did a stripe down my nails, I was thinking of race tracks.. When I looked at it I realized, rather creepily, that they looked like eyes. After a few minutes of admiring it, I decided I needed more bling. So I broke out Claire’s glitter striping polish and voila.

That’s my creative process folks 😉
Black striping for all of the nails is Wet N Wild Black Creme– great polish. Full, black (not brownish black) coverage in one layer.  All the other polishes are China Glaze colors.

Left hand, from the Pinky to Thumb: Bermuda Breakaway; For Audrey; Sexy in the City; Sea Spray; Calypso Blue.
Calypso Blue is a very dark midnight blue, I’d say it’s a true midnight blue. I added the black stripe and realized I had a very hard time distinguishing the dark blue/black so that’s how the glitter stripe idea was born 😉 The difference is there however, Calypso Blue has the blue base, it’s not a black based blue.

Right hand, from the Pinky to Thumb: Caribbean Blue; Midnight Mission; Bahamian Escape; Rodeo Fanatic; Shower Together.

I was concerned that Midnight Mission and Rodeo Fanatic looked similar in the first photo, so here’s a closeup and a comparison. You can see they are not similar at all.

I got in a discussion with Nick about For Audrey and Sea Spray– He was convinced they looked exactly the same. A quick poll of my three roommates proved otherwise. As you can see Sea Spray is a grey based light blue, while For Audrey has much more green in it. I’m not sure why I willingly spend 10 minutes arguing with a color blind guy but there you have my Sunday.
