China Glaze Flyin’ High, mattified with CG Matte Magic

Base color: Orly Blue Collar; Stamping: Flowers was Wet N Wild Saved by the Blue and the butterflies was Sally Hansen Chrome in Anemone. Used Bundle Monster stamps.
It really looked a lot better in person– for some reason this picture is choosing to show all the ugly imperfections!! 😐 Not cool.

I originally planned to do a tie dye manicure, but it just didn’t feel right. Then I decided on a tie dye pattern, with various shades of blue (five). Didn’t like that either, so I went with water marbling. I think Mom would appreciate that a little more– she liked crafty stuff, and water marbling is pretty damn crafty. I layered over it with Sally Hansen Diamonds, a glitter.

Also this was my favorite design at least– I managed to do really well on all the nails though!
Mom would have been 58 today, and this is the first birthday that she isn’t here for, and it also has been almost 5 months since she passed… It still feels weird. I wish I could text her and tell her of this. I guess she’s watching from somewhere.

I’ve been thinking about my Mom a lot lately (Not like I don’t, but you know.) and she, my grandmother, and I always believed that butterflies symbolized messages from the deceased. I’ve missed Mom a lot this week, and so I decided to choose the butterfly image because it’s too cold for them to visit me here in DC 🙂
